Sandra Small is the soulful voice and leader of The Smallworld Band. Born in Naples, Italy to an Italian mother and African American father, Sandra carries a sound as deep, and as wide as her varied experiences. She is consistently compared to greats and musical icons like Erykah Badu, Anita Baker, Lenny Kravitz, Prince, Sade and many more.
“The goal of my music is to express an experience, a moment, a feeling, a place and time,” Sandra says. “I want to tell a story, to encourage, uplift, inspire, bring pleasure and to piece together a series of collages of all that I am and feel as an artist.”
Sandra began playing the guitar when she was thirteen years old and soon wrote her first song. It was an experience of expression that began to define the unique sound and keen perspective that fans have come to love and appreciate in Sandra’s music.
