Its very common for Strings to play custom wedding songs. Our Wedding String Quartet recently performed for a breathtaking wedding at the Museum of the City of New York and delivered some lovely special requests. We played for both the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour and presented several custom song arrangements with a Broadway theme.
The couple choose “Love Story” by Taylor Swift and “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. These are great pieces and we’ve played them many times, however the other two pieces had never been arranged for strings so we had to create our own custom sheet music.

“Sunday” from “Sunday in the Park With George” by Stephen Sondheim

“Screech” from “Come From Away” by by David Hein, Irene Carl Sankoff, and Irene Sankoff.
Equipment and Logistics
We also provided two wireless mics for the ceremony and amplified everything through our Bose tower speakers. The location for cocktail hour was dependent on the flow of guests and the weather, so we opted to go with an all-acoustic setup on the patio.
We’d also like to thank the wedding planner, Vanda High from https://www.vandahighevents.com/ It is so helpful to work with a great planner because a wedding like this really demands a lot of our creative energies and the right planner is so helpful creating the conditions for us to deliver a great performance.
